Revisiting the Xenomorph for 'Alien: Earth' was both an exciting opportunity and a daunting responsibility. At Wētā Workshop, H.R. Giger's original creature is regarded as one of the greatest designs in cinematic history, so we approached the project with genuine trepidation and enormous respect for its legacy.

Working closely with showrunner Noah Hawley, we explored ways to subtly evolve the Xenomorph while preserving the iconic elements that define it, including its elongated head, secondary jaw, bladed tail, bio-mechanical textures, and distinctive dorsal pipes. Noah's vision was to reduce the creature's overtly human anatomy, introducing more crustacean and beetle-like characteristics that made it feel even more alien. The design continued to evolve throughout the physical sculpting and manufacturing process, where practical considerations influenced many final decisions. Refinements made during fabrication improved the suit's wearability, mobility, and on-set performance, resulting in a Xenomorph that honors the original while bringing a fresh interpretation to 'Alien: Earth'.
