X - Prosthetics

In 2020 we were given the opportunity to work on Ti West's latest horror film, X. Our team partnered with our prosthetics department to design and create the main look of the characters Pearl and Howard, along with various gore prosthetics for each of their victims. When designing the elderly couple, Ti wanted us to be thinking in terms of creature design rather than character design; to push them to the point of becoming monsters, and then to pull them back just far enough for the audience to accept them as 'folk'.
